• The Check-ear study:

Check-ear is a study aimed at men who have sex with other men (MSM) that’s done at BCN Checkpoint in collaboration with Fundació IrsiCaixa, Fundació de Lluita contra la Sida from Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol in Badalona, Fundació Clínic from Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, the Centre d’Estudis Epidemiològics sobre les Infeccions de Transmissió Sexual i Sida de Catalunya (CEEISCAT) and the Centre Català d’Investigació i Desenvolupament de Vacunes de la Sida (HIVACAT).

The objective is to evaluate the incidence of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI) in men at a high risk of infection, Check-ear allows us to offer period screenings for the most prevalent STI:

• HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus)
• HPV (Human Papillomavirus) *
• Syphilis
• Gonorrhea
• Chlamydia
• Hepatitis viruses A, B and C

*The HPV control services include an initial check-up to check whether the virus is present in the organism and a cytology screening to detect any possible lesions.
