At BCN Checkpoint, we work every day to care for the sexual health and wellbeing of our community, while also reaching people who are experiencing situations of social vulnerability. At certain moments in life, some people in our community may find themselves in situations of housing insecurity or social exclusion.
These realities are often the result of multiple and intersecting vulnerabilities, such as mental health challenges, social isolation, migration trajectories, economic difficulties, or involvement in chemsex contexts (sexualised substance use). None of these factors, on their own, define a person or fully explain a specific situation.
At BCN Checkpoint, we carry out ongoing street outreach and community mapping, using an approach based on harm reduction, non-judgement, and linkage to social and healthcare resources.
What are we collecting?
We prioritise hygiene and personal care items, as these are a key need in contexts of vulnerability:
- Underwear (boxers, briefs, socks)
- Shower gel (travel-size)
- Shampoo (travel-size)
- Deodorant
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Wet wipes
- Reusable water bottles
Every contribution counts and helps generate dignified, close, and needs-based responses.

You will find clearly marked collection points. The BCN Checkpoint team will sort the items and distribute them during community outreach interventions.
