Trans people

At BCN Checkpoint, we are a community-based sexual health centre in Barcelona, created by and for the community. We work with respect, confidentiality and scientific evidence to provide comprehensive, accessible and non-judgmental care.

This space is specifically designed for trans, non-binary and gender-diverse people who want to take care of their sexual and emotional health in a safe environment.

We know that many trans people have experienced discrimination in healthcare settings. At BCN Checkpoint, we offer you:

– Respectful treatment using your name and pronouns
– Confidentiality
– Professionals trained in gender diversity
– A community-based, non-pathologizing approach

Here, you don’t have to explain or justify yourself. Just come as you are.

What services do we offer for trans people?

HIV and STI testing and treatment
Fast, confidential and free HIV and STI testing.
If your HIV test result is positive, we can arrange an appointment for you at a reference HIV hospital. The centre also offers a specific service program for people living with HIV.
If you test positive for other STIs, we provide treatment at the centre.

PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis for HIV)
Access to PrEP with specialized medical follow-up to safely prevent HIV.

Hormone monitoring
Lab testing to monitor hormone treatment in a respectful and informed environment.

Vaccination
We offer vaccination against:
– Hepatitis A
– Hepatitis B
– HPV (human papillomavirus)
– Mpox

Psychological support
Emotional support space with specialized professionals.
Support for people living with HIV.
Care in situations related to chemsex, substance use and mental health.
