At BCN Checkpoint, we work every day to support our community, but also to reach people who find themselves in situations of great vulnerability, including those who have become homeless. Many of these situations are related to complex health and life circumstances, such as drug use associated with chemsex, which has often contributed to increased vulnerability — always with a respectful, non-stigmatizing approach. For this reason, Checkpoint will visit the encampments where members of our community are currently living in order to offer them direct support.
To make this possible, we have launched the Return to Your Community campaign, an initiative that allows everyone who visits BCN Checkpoint to contribute by donating essential items that will help improve the daily lives of these individuals.
What are we collecting?
We need basic hygiene items and essential supplies that we will include in the Checkpoint Packs distributed during our scheduled outreach visits:
- Underwear (boxers, briefs, socks, …)
- Shower gel (mini size)
- Shampoo (mini size)
- Deodorant
- Reusable water bottles
- Toothbrushes
- Toothpaste
- Wet wipes
Every contribution, no matter how small it may seem, adds up and makes a difference.
Where can I drop off my contribution?
You can bring the items directly to:
BCN Checkpoint – Carrer Comte Borrell 164 – 166, 08015 Barcelona (metro Urgell)
You will find clearly marked collection points.
You only need to leave the items in the campaign containers. Our team will classify them and personally deliver them to people experiencing homelessness.
Why is it important to take part?
The reality of people experiencing homelessness within our own community is often invisible. With this campaign:
